Parents of a young child with autism (and related communication challenges) attended a workshop and were very happy to be able to see demonstrations of a variety of augmentative communication apps for the iPad and other tablets. Their child just began receiving speech therapy services, but they wanted to learn more about AAC (both low and high tech), as well as the process of finding assistive technology that is a good match for their child.
